Be Gentle

Being gentle with myself has been of paramount importance to me this week. I have found myself quite tired and overwrought, with lots of opportunities, social engagements and homework assignments and very few spoons to my name. It seems to me that, with everything I’m studying and learning and exploring, I’m smack in the middle of becoming who I will be. I’m getting there, but I’m not quite cooked yet. (Cue the “half baked” jokes!) Thankfully, I have the rest of my life to let who I am unfold according to divine timing. But there are times when the process takes up a few more spoons than I want to give up in a given day. Personal transformation can be exhausting, even when it takes place on the couch. And then I get frustrated with myself for being tired. I forget how hard my brain and heart and soul are working to evolve my consciousness and reveal my truth.

So I pledge be more gentle with myself, and I invite you to join me. Let’s be kinder to ourselves during the unfolding. After all, Sweet Spirit is in charge of the process, and it could only ever turn out perfectly. And more and more, as we have the kindest attitude toward ourselves, we will be able to have the right attitude with others.
