Going Away, Coming Home

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ― Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

Tomorrow is my CD release party, marking the end of my grand CD launch/tour summer adventure. This means that next week, I have every intention to be back to my weekly writing schedule. I'm excited to come back to my writing discipline with fresh insights and new things to say. You can never step in the same river twice, as the sages say. I am different now. Enhanced by loving conversations. Emboldened by successes and well-received shows. Wizened by a definitely gluten-full meal in Oklahoma and the ensuing fallout. Strengthened by all the mentors who showed me the ropes, shared their systems and secrets, collaborated with me and also made me do it on my own to prove that I could. I bring it all back to my writing, to this group. I'm so glad to be home.
